A huge thank you to the hard working organisers, and incredible volunteers involved with the Maer 10k and Half marathon this weekend. The race was really well put together, the great pre race info, clear instructions on the day, and topped off with a challenging, but fun, route for the Half marathon, taking in some of the best scenery in the Southwest. I Will definitely be looking to enter this event again, and after getting a 1/2 marathon PR this year, I'll be keeping up with the cheese, bacon, and maple syrup pancake diet, for fueling.

Varied terrain made it interesting
A nice run through varied terrain including sea front, cycle routes, river and coast path - a steep climb out of Budleigh. Great marshalling - a bit tricky navigating at times but the florescent yellow signs and yellow paint helped!

Half Road/Half Trail Coastal Challenge
If it is dry, definitely wear trainers. I reckon 8 miles of it were on the road and the first 7.5 were also road with small bits of trail. Coastal path back was lovely but tough. Marshals were lovely. The course relies on you staying on long straight paths with no additional signs. I got briefly lost in the caravan park but that was likely user error :) Enjoyed this one, thank you!

It was a great 10km course with a mixture of up, down and flat. The setting was stunning and great views along the second half of the route. The sunshine made it even better.

Excellent run and well Marshalled, but wish they'd tidied up the start gates as I ran through them thinking I was finished, and nobody corrected me until I saw the actual finish gates 30m further on. Otherwise a fantastic day and well organised.

Well marshalled and very challenging
It was very disappointing to realise that the course was not properly measured and was around 0.5 miles longer than the expected 13.1 miles. I’ve run this race every year since it started and it’s very disappointing that this year’s time is not comparable with previous years due to them being different distances.

Scenic, varied course, well-organised, great day out
Thanks to the team for all their hard work to make this such an enjoyable event. Marshalling and race instructions were really good. The white arrow markers on the ground were very helpful, particularly around the streets of Budleigh. A really well thought out and varied course (I did the half), lovely scenery. My partner did the 10k and would have liked to see distance markers on the course, also if there are more entries next year could you consider extending the age groups? (he is 77!)
