Let the incredible start line atmosphere at Sidshore motivate you for The Maer races. Which will you choose?
The East coast of Devon is famous for it's hills and beautiful hill top views. Come along and get swept up in the atmosphere of this very enjoyable coastal event.
Now in it's seventh year both routes head out and finish on the same course but split after 5km:
- The Maer 10km Challenge; a single lap course which is scenic and challenging. The route starts on Exmouth seafront and winds it way through Exmouth before heading out to the coast path to rejoin the half route allowing it to experience the downhill stretch leading to the Geoneedle, hugging the coast pathback to the finish line.
- The Maer Half Challenge; a multi-terrain single lap course winding its way over to Budleigh along the disused trainline before climbing nearly 1000ft along the spectacular coastal path back to the finish line in Exmouth. Beautiful, scenic and definately challenging!!
Chip timed with a fab finishers medal (if you choose one)!

'I thought it was a fantastic event. Very well organised and welcoming. I did the 10k this year and I enjoyed the new route even more than the old one, the second climb and descent down Gore Lane and the coast path were great. The marshals were great' - Simon, Exeter
'What a great day! Many thanks to you and your team for organising and marshaling such a great event! Was a hard first 10k but very enjoyable!' - Chris, Carharrick Redruth
